Sean P. O'Neill, CFA : Senior Research Analyst
Sean P. O'Neill is a research analyst for Singular Research. He began his career in 1990 with Wilshire Associates as an analyst. In 1993 he joined Bjurman and Associates as a research analyst focused on theSmall Cap Growth portfolio. Sean joined Froley, Revy, a firm focused on managing convertible bond portfolios, in 1998 and left in late 2000 to become Director of Research at a boutique firm in Los Angeles.
Sean graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Economics and minors in Mathematics and Literature in 1989. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
Gary Holdsworth, CFA : Senior Research Analyst
Prior to joining Singular Research, Gary worked for three years at Wedbush Morgan Securities as a research analyst covering specialty retail, engineering, and energy technology companies. Prior to Wedbush, he worked for eight years at TCW Group, most recently as an equity research analyst covering retail, autos, homebuilders, and basic materials companies. Gary began his career in trust administration at Bankers Trust (now Deutche Bank). He has a MBA from the Marshall School at the University of Southern California and a BS degree from Brigham Young University. Gary is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Trip Hawkins
Trip Hawkins is the founder and CEO of Digital Chocolate, a leading publisher of entertainment applications and games for mobile phones.
Previously, Trip was the founder of Electronic Arts and one of the first managers at Apple Computer. Today, Digital Chocolate is rated # 1 by mobile game critics and leads the industry in awards won in the last year by games such as Tower Bloxx, Nightclub Empire, and Rollercoaster Rush, and new social applications like AvaPeeps: FlirtNation and MLSN Sports Picks.
Mark Rye
Mark Rye is a research analyst for Singular Research. Mark was previously a Director in Fidelity Investments’ private equity group and also served as CFO for Insurance.com and several other start-up companies in Fidelity’s private equity portfolio. His prior experience includes business development, product management and corporate finance roles in the Computer Industry. He began his career in an elite financial management program at Honeywell. Mark is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an MBA degree in Finance, with distinction, from Bentley College. He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration, with high honors, from Northeastern University.
Greg Garner, CFA
Greg is a research analyst for Singular Research. Previously, Greg has been the Director of Research and a Portfolio Manager at Noroian Capital Management where he implemented a disciplined fundamental approach to selecting stocks for growth and value portfolios. Equity portfolio performance under Greg’s guidance was consistently in the top quartile for 14 years, during which time assets under management grew ten-fold. Greg has also created business plans for several new companies and has product management experience in the software and institution investment industries. Greg has an MBA from Oakland University, a BS in Microbiology from Michigan State University and is a holder of the Charter Financial Analyst designation.
Jeremy Hellman, CFA
Jeremy Hellman is a research analyst for Singular Research. He began his career in 1993 as an equity trader and has since moved to the analytical side of the business. Most recently he was a generalist, small-cap analyst with Thompson, Davis & Company, where he also served as Director of Research. Other career highlights include the start-up of a hedge fund and management of proprietary capital at Monarch Financial Corporation. Jeremy received his B.S. degree in Business Adminsitration from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Sriram Rangamony
Sriram Rangamony is a research analyst for Singular Research. Prior to joining Singular Research, Sriram held various positions including that of Investment Manager in India’s largest private equity firm, ICICI Venture, investing in a wide range of industries including machine tools, automotive components and bio-chemicals. His prior experience includes business development for a software company and corporate finance and supply chain management roles at one of India’s largest jewelry and watch manufacturer.
Sriram is a member of CFA Society of San Francisco. Sriram graduated from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in 1992. He has a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calicut.
Yong Xu
Yong Xu is a research analyst for Singular Research. He currently holds a position as Controller/Analyst at a boutique hedge firm in Los Angeles. Prior to joining the hedge fund, Yong had worked as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLC for about three years. He is a licensed California CPA. Yong graduated with his MBA degree from Pepperdine University, and has a BA in Economics degree from the Shanghai International Studies University.
